BIOGRAPHY
Mauricio Charbonnier is an Argentine composer, born in Buenos Aires in 1979. His works have been performed worldwide, across both Latin America and Europe, establishing him as one of the most highly regarded emerging composers of his generation.
His pieces have premiered in major theaters throughout Latin America and internationally, including the Teatro Colón (Buenos Aires, Argentina), the CCK National Auditorium (Argentina), the Sala Nezahualcóyotl (UNAM, Mexico), the Palacio de Bellas Artes (Mexico), and the Teatro Solís (Montevideo, Uruguay).
His musical aesthetic defines him as a neo-romantic – impressionist author. His works exhibit a musical poetics characterized by a deep dramatic weight and expressive power, firmly situating his path at the intersection of tradition and contemporary music. His catalog includes chamber, vocal, symphonic, and concertante pieces.
His compositions have been recorded by both Argentine and international soloists in countries such as Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Italy, Portugal, Spain, the UK, Austria, Greece, Cuba, Mexico, the USA, Ecuador, and the Netherlands.

In 2023, he was a guest composer at the ICA 50th Anniversary celebration in Ireland, featuring a «Composer Portrait» of his complete chamber works for clarinet, performed by Maestro Martin Castillo.
He received his academic training at the Conservatory of the City of Buenos Aires and the National University of the Arts (UNA), specializing in performance, chamber music, and composition.
In 2022, he was honored with the Premio Nacional Clásica in the «Breakthrough Composer» (Compositor Revelación) category.
